AUNTY ART: Director of Imagination, Visual Art
Born in the former Soviet Union, Aunty Art attended 5 years of art school in Riga, Latvia, where she learned the more utilitarian forms of style and culture. Upon being designated an "Alien" in her own home country after the U.S.S.R. collapsed, Aunty Art escaped to the more colorful and modern life of Western Canada.
Because of her rigid upbringing in a society with few possessions, Aunty Art developed an appreciation for creating with re-purposed materials. She prefers vibrant contrasting colors in her work and has a strong disdain for convention. She is the anti-artist; a glittering sneer in the face of the ordinary.
Aunty Art joined ROBOT:LEGION in 2019 as Director of Imagination and Visual Artist. Her artwork and influence can be found throughout many ROBOT:LEGION projects including album artworks, videos, merchandise, and stage design.
